Why we made it
We have been developers for close to thirty years. In that time we have pasted a lot of things into a lot of websites: a token to see what is inside it, a config to tidy up, a query to format. Every time came the same small worry: where does this go?
Most online tools send what you type to a server. Some say they do not, and few let you check. We went looking for tools that were quick and free and kept everything to themselves, and we kept coming up short. So we made our own.
What we promise
Everything runs in your browser. There are no accounts, no cookies and no tracking of what you paste, and the site has no network access once it has loaded. Open your browser's network tab and see for yourself. The details are on the privacy page.
The name
We build fjordtools on the west coast of Norway, where the fjords cut deep into the mountains and the water lies still and clear. They were on our minds when we looked for a name.
A fjord is a narrow arm of the sea held between steep walls: a quiet, sheltered place where nothing comes in or goes out unless you invite it. That is how we want these tools to feel.
