About QR Code Generatorhow it works and good to know
Make a QR code for a link, Wi-Fi or text
Type or paste a link, a message or any text and the code appears as you type. Choose Wi-Fi to make a code that lets guests join your network by pointing their camera at it: it carries the network name, the password and the security type.
Error correction
A QR code carries extra data so it still scans when it is smudged or partly covered. L recovers about 7% damage, M 15%, Q 25% and H 30%. More correction makes the code denser. Use M for screens and paper, and H if you will put a logo over the middle or print on a rough surface.
Make it scan
Keep a quiet margin of 4 modules around the code (the default) and use a dark code on a light background. Light codes on dark backgrounds fail in many scanners, and the page warns you when contrast is low or inverted. Print it at least 2 cm wide and test it with a phone first.
Limits
One code holds up to about 2,950 bytes of text (7,089 digits, 4,296 letters and symbols from the alphanumeric set). Non-English letters and emoji take two to four bytes each (UTF-8).
How it is tested
The encoder is checked against the qrencode program, module for module, for every version and error-correction level, and against the zbar scanner on generated images. The PNG and SVG you download are read back the same way.
Privacy
The code is made in your browser. The text, link and Wi-Fi password never leave your device.
